RMR PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER ACADEMY
South Metro Fire & Rescue HQ Bldg, Centennial, Colorado

The Rocky Mountain Region will host a Public Affairs Officer Academy for all PAOs, Commanders and Recruiting and Retention Officers on Saturday, December 9th, from 0830 to 1800 (Core Curriculum) and an optional Advanced Training on Sunday, December 10th from 0830 to 1500 at the South Metro Fire & Rescue Headquarters Building, Centennial, CO.

The RMR PAO Academy is a comprehensive annual training opportunity that is becoming known as “the Harvard of CAP PAO Academies” and includes everything a PAO needs to know to successfully perform their role and fulfill training and unit requirements. Annual PAO training is a requirement of CAPR190-1, is necessary for advancement in the CAPP 201 PAO Specialty Track and essential for a unit’s SUI success. Recruiting and Retention is critically important for the Civil Air Patrol and a priority of all RMR wings. As Public Affairs works closely with Recruiting and Retention the training includes a special session focused on successful marketing, publicity, recruiting and retention practices and all commanders and RROs are invited and encouraged to attend.

Breakfast & Lunch will be supplied and prizes will be awarded throughout the day after each session to help ensure attendees retain the information that is imparted! RMR is pleased to announce this year’s Keynote Speaker to be Lt Col Paul Cianciolo, CAP National Public Affairs Marketing and Social Media Manager. Region and Wing PAOs from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming will help lead the training sessions. In addition, a second day of “advanced training” on Sunday, December 10th, is being offered for those able to attend. A complete agenda of sessions for Saturday, Dec 9th and Sunday Dec 10th is attached.
